Rich Internet Application Engineer / PHP+Flex or Other

Voxel is seeking 2 ridiculously good developers to work in a tight team, developing bleeding edge Rich Internet Applications to interact and manage Voxel's suite of infrastructure services. As hosting and CDN provider to some of the world's largest Internet properties, you'll be forced to think outside of the box (and be given alot of leash) to build intuitive and effective applications for our customers and our internal staff.

  • Location: New York, NY
  • Capability Requirements:
    -Strong expertise in at least 2 Internet application languages (PHP, Java, .NET, Perl, etc)
    -Expert at building web applications
    -Experience with ActionScript 2/3
    -Understanding of Flex/AIR OR AJAX
    -Experience with API's for use as a web service, particularly REST API's
    -Penchant for good usability

Inside Sales / Sales Engineer

Are you technical but don’t like being relegated to communicating to a command line?  You know Linux, but you’re just as happy to use Windows because it's not that bad on a desktop – and you know Microsoft Office is still better than Star Office.  This might be the job for you; you'll get to chat about the latest and greatest Wordpress plugin that a potential client is excited about, then turn around and build them a scalable managed Cluster and CDN.  You’ll get to work with high-end existing clients to understand what they’re doing and work with our team of System Administrators to help them scale up and out most effectively – and keep them happy the whole time.

    -Technical  expertise, with preference for strong background in Linux hosting technologies
    -Superlative communication skills, both written and verbal
    -2+ years experience within a Sales or Sales Engineering role

C++ Developer / Senior C++ Developer

We're hiring a full-time experienced C++ Developer to help us expand our mission-critical content delivery network and related products. We need someone who knows Linux, TCP/IP, and HTTP inside and out, can handle working with large amounts of data efficiently, and can design for reliable use under heavy traffic load.

  • Required skills:
    -Verifiable knowledge and experience with C++ development.
    -SQL, esp w/ MySQL.
    -Very comfortable using and developing on Linux.
    -Very familiar with HTTP servers (esp Apache).
    -Ability to identify industry trends and suggest/develop features accordingly.
    -Experience developing high-traffic TCP servers in C++.
